Job summary

SEAWAY is seeking a National Trade & Procurement Manager to own the trade, pricing and procurement strategy across Import & Export Seafreight on a national scale. You will lead a high‑performing team and influence commercial outcomes.

Working with Sales and Operations nationally, you’ll build strong carrier relationships, negotiate terms, and shape our national trade strategy as SEAWAY continues to grow in Australia. This is a permanent, full‑time role offering hybrid work and career development.

Qualifications

• Experience in trade, procurement or carrier management within freight forwarding.
• Established carrier and industry relationships.
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead SEAWAY's national trade, pricing and procurement strategy across Import & Export Seafreight.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key carriers and suppliers.
• Negotiate competitive rates, allocations, service agreements and commercial terms.
• Lead tenders and sourcing activities, from strategy and evaluation through to negotiation and implementation.
• Partner with Sales and Operations to support competitive customer solutions and new business opportunities.
• Support the development of consistent procurement practices and processes nationally.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Trade & Procurement team, with a strong focus on capability, performance and development.

You're a commercially sharp freight professional who knows the market, understands carriers and enjoys getting the best deal on the table.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Strong experience in trade, procurement or carrier management within freight forwarding
• Established carrier and industry relationships
• Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on when required
• Experience with CargoWise would be highly regarded
• A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across a national business
