Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking an experienced leader to drive national injury management and rehabilitation strategies. The role focuses on proactive injury prevention, rapid return-to-work, and reducing claim costs while ensuring regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

You will lead complex claims, partner with insurers and providers, and build capability in early intervention and work capacity management to deliver strong commercial outcomes with quality employee care.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in workplace rehabilitation and return-to-work leadership.
• Advanced knowledge of workers' compensation legislation across multiple Australian jurisdictions.
• Proven ability to improve return-to-work outcomes and reduce claim costs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Experience leading geographically dispersed teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the national rehabilitation and injury management strategy.
• Establish a high-performance injury management framework aligned to business objectives.
• Drive continual improvement in injury management systems, processes and outcomes.
• Provide expert advice to senior leaders on rehabilitation and workers' compensation matters.
• Oversee management of all workers' compensation claims nationally.
• Lead complex, high-risk and high-cost claims to optimal outcomes.
• Ensure governance and oversight of claim management activities.
• Lead the development and implementation of effective return-to-work programs across all sites.
• Promote early intervention strategies to maximise recovery and return-to-work outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with state workers' compensation, rehabilitation and return-to-work legislation.
