Job summary

Bridgestone Mining Solutions Australia – Olympic Park NSW is seeking a National Manager Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) to lead the development and implementation of BMSA’s integrated HSEQ framework across multiple locations from our Sydney Olympic Park Head Office.

You will provide governance, assurance, technical guidance and operational support to protect workers, contractors, customers, communities and business operations, while aligning with ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

Qualifications

• Advanced WHS qualification required.
• Minimum 10 years' HSEQ experience with 5+ years in management.
• Experience implementing ISO 45001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
• Strong knowledge of Australian HSEQ legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading audits and corrective-action processes.
• Willingness to travel interstate.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the National HSEQ Strategy Plan.
• Lead and mentor the National HSEQ team and support regional teams.
• Governance and assurance to protect workers, contractors, customers, communities and operations.
• Ensure alignment with Bridgestone corporate policies and ISO standards.
• Integrate HSEQ priorities with operational and commercial objectives.

We currently seek a National Manager Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) to work out of our state-of-the-art Head Office in Sydney Olympic Park.

You will lead the development, implementation & continual improvement of BMSA’s integrated health, safety, environment, quality and sustainability framework across multiple locations. You will provide governance, assurance, technical guidance & operational support to protect workers, contractors, customers, communities, business operations, property & reputation.

The Opportunity

• Maintains alignment with Bridgestone Corporate Policies & Guidelines, applicable statutory/legislative requirements & the current applicable editions of ISO 45001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001


• Develop & oversee implementation of the National HSEQ Strategy Plan, including Sustainability priorities


• Manage, mentor & guide the National HSEQ team & support regional HSEQ teams to promote best practice


• Communicate effectively, influence stakeholders at all levels & integrate HSEQ priorities with operational & commercial objectives

About You - Essential

• Advanced diploma, degree or postgraduate qualification in WHS or related discipline


• Minimum 10 years’ HSEQ experience, including at least 5 years’ management experience


• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing & improving integrated management systems aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001


• Strong knowledge of relevant Australian HSEQ legislation & regulatory requirements with the ability to translate & drive requirements for business stakeholders


• Demonstrated experience leading audits, certification programs, serious incident investigations & corrective-action processes


• Experience successfully managing workers’ compensation, injury management, rehabilitation & RTW processes


• Ability to balance strategic & commercial direction with operational requirements in a multi-site environment


• Experience within a global parent organisation & applying corporate requirements within local operations


• Demonstrated experience establishing critical-risk & critical-control frameworks in mining or heavy industry


• Working knowledge of psychosocial risk management, occupational hygiene principles & contemporary approaches to health surveillance & worker wellbeing


• Acceptance of regular intrastate and interstate travel


• A valid driver’s licence & current work rights in Australia
