Job description

National Learning & Development Consultant

Build something that matters

This is an opportunity to create lasting impact across Nexia Australia. You will bring together strong local learning initiatives, shape a clear national approach and deliver practical programs that help our people, leaders and firms perform at their best. You will have access to senior decision-makers, the scope to influence priorities and the autonomy to turn strategy into action.

The opportunity

As our National Learning & Development Consultant, you will lead the implementation of Nexia Australia’s learning strategy across a network of independently operated firms. The foundations are in place. Your role is to connect the work already happening, identify the highest-value opportunities and build a more consistent national experience without losing the flexibility each firm needs.

This newly created role is well suited to an experienced L&D leader who enjoys building, influencing and delivering. Working from any Nexia office in Australia, it offers genuine national scope in a three-day-a-week role, with a fixed term of 12 months, with possible extension.

What you will lead
  • Turn the national L&D strategy into a clear roadmap with practical priorities, milestones and measures of success.
  • Review learning programs, pathways, providers, platforms and investment across the network to identify gaps, reduce duplication and scale what works.
  • Design and deliver national programs spanning technical excellence, leadership, people management, advisory capability, digital and AI skills, onboarding and career development.
  • Create practical, engaging learning experiences using strong adult learning and instructional design principles.
  • Build trusted relationships with partners, firm leaders, subject matter experts and People & Culture teams across Australia.
  • Facilitate workshops and working groups that turn diverse perspectives into shared priorities and action.
  • Partner with Nexia’s global learning team and external providers to bring the best available thinking and resources into the Australian network.
  • Establish simple governance and reporting that shows participation, outcomes and value, and provide clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
What you will bring

You are an experienced L&D, talent or organisational development professional who can operate strategically and still deliver. You are comfortable working autonomously, taking ownership of priorities and driving work forward with minimal direction. You know how to make progress in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment, and you bring credibility, curiosity and sound judgement to senior conversations.

Life at Nexia

Nexia Australia connects independent firms across the country with a global network spanning more than 490 offices. You will work close to decision-makers and have the opportunity to create a national approach that leaves a lasting mark.

  • A rare opportunity to shape a national learning agenda from the ground up
  • Direct access to senior leaders and the ability to influence decisions
  • A flexible three-day working week from any Nexia office in Australia
  • Health, wellbeing and employee assistance benefits, supported by a collaborative national community
