Job description

Our client is seeking a National Equipment Controller to take ownership of equipment asset control, utilisation and accountability across its national network. This is an opportunity for an organised, analytical and commercially minded professional to make a tangible impact on operational efficiency, asset integrity and cost management.

Working closely with Operations, Commercial, Finance and site teams, you will ensure equipment is available when required, accurately tracked, effectively maintained and utilised to support business requirements. The role offers broad exposure to the complete equipment lifecycle and the opportunity to drive consistent processes and continuous improvement across multiple sites.

The Role

Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management and optimisation of equipment assets nationally.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Own and maintain the national equipment asset register, ensuring accurate records of location, ownership, condition, utilisation, value and lifecycle status.
  • Coordinate equipment allocation, transfers and recovery between sites to meet operational requirements.
  • Monitor equipment utilisation and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary expenditure.
  • Manage inventory control, stocktakes and reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, losses and damage.
  • Develop and maintain consistent equipment management procedures, standards and documentation across the network.
  • Prepare accurate weekly and monthly reporting on equipment availability, utilisation, maintenance costs, expenditure, losses and asset performance.
  • Work with internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers to support purchasing, servicing, transfers and lifecycle management.
  • Monitor equipment-related expenditure, including hire, repairs, maintenance and replacement, with a focus on total cost of ownership.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and capital planning through equipment analysis and replacement recommendations.
  • Provide training, guidance and support to site administration teams to strengthen equipment controls and accountability.
  • Drive practical continuous improvement initiatives across equipment management, inventory accuracy and asset utilisation.

About You

You will bring strong attention to detail, sound analytical capability and the confidence to work with stakeholders across a national operation. You will be comfortable balancing operational priorities with accurate systems, reporting and financial accountability.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in equipment, asset, inventory or warehouse control within a multi-site logistics, warehousing, manufacturing or supply chain environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems, 2IC and Microsoft Office, with the ability to interpret data and produce accurate reports.
  • A demonstrated ability to investigate discrepancies, identify root causes and implement effective improvements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across operations, finance, suppliers and customers.
  • The ability to coach and support site teams, monitor performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach to continuous improvement.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

This is a role with genuine national scope, offering the opportunity to influence equipment control standards, improve asset utilisation and contribute to meaningful cost efficiencies. You will work across a broad stakeholder group and develop your experience in asset lifecycle management, operational reporting and continuous improvement within a multi-site environment.

If you are looking to take the next step in your career and contribute to a business where accurate equipment control and operational performance are critical, we would welcome your application.
