Job summary

Australia Post in Newcastle is seeking an Equipment & Asset Manager to shape how assets are planned, deployed and governed across a major logistics network. This full-time, on-site role reports to the National Equipment, Sustainability & Rapid Response Manager and ensures equipment is available where and when needed to support continuity and performance.

You will work with senior stakeholders to drive national readiness, optimise asset utilisation and lead improvements across the network.

Qualifications

• Experience managing equipment/assets, fleet, or operational programs in a large, complex environment.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills across functions.
• Commercial acumen and experience managing suppliers or service providers.
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong analytical capability.
• Experience driving operational improvements and implementing change initiatives.
• Ability to navigate competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead national equipment and asset programs across Australia Post's network.
• Drive planning, deployment and optimisation of operational equipment to maximise performance.
• Partner with Operations, Procurement, Sustainability and other functions to deliver strategic outcomes.
• Support rapid response and business continuity activities during peak periods and critical events.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and operational effectiveness.
• Manage supplier relationships to deliver strong service, commercial and operational outcomes.
• Support network planning to meet seasonal and long-term requirements.
• Champion safe, compliant and effective asset management practices.
