Job summary

Randstad - Finance & Accounting is partnering with a Federal Government client to appoint an EL1 Assistant Director, Cultural Safety Learning. This senior role leads the design and implementation of cultural safety learning initiatives to build workforce capability in the disability sector for First Nations peoples.

Key responsibilities include overseeing training delivery, stakeholder engagement, and strategic reporting for executive stakeholders, with a focus on governance, risk, and co-design

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead design and implementation of complex training and capability development initiatives with risk and governance
• Strong project/program management methodology for planning, monitoring, and reporting
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with First Nations peoples, communities, and leaders
• Deep understanding of First Nations cultures, histories, and cultural safety principles
• Analytical skills to assess policy impacts and provide evidence-based recommendations
• Excellent written and verbal communication including high-level briefing and reporting

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of the Cultural Safety Learning Program and related capability initiatives
• Oversee scheduling, coordination, and delivery of training programs (facilitated and self-paced)
• Champion cultural change and strengths-based approaches within First Nations contexts
• Lead planning, performance monitoring, risk management, and reporting for executives
• Prepare Ministerial briefs, submissions, and committee papers with high-level advice
• Oversee stakeholder engagement and co-design with First Nations communities and organisations
• Represent the agency in internal/external forums, meetings, and negotiations
• Lead and mentor teams, manage workloads, and foster a safe, innovative workplace culture
