Job summary

Goodman Fielder is seeking a National Automation & Electrical Engineer to lead the automation strategy across multiple manufacturing sites in Australia. You will drive innovation, modernization and operational performance by leveraging automation, process control and digital technologies.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering and executive leaders to identify strategic improvements, set governance, and build future capability through data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in automation, controls or electrical engineering within manufacturing.
• Proven success leading complex automation projects and transformation initiatives.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to develop compelling business cases.
• Expertise in PLCs, SCADA, process control and industrial automation systems.
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across multiple sites and functions.
• A passion for innovation, continuous improvement and shaping the future of manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a national automation and electrical strategy aligned to business priorities.
• Drive network-wide automation, control systems and digital manufacturing initiatives.
• Lead major capital projects that enhance performance, reliability and efficiency.
• Establish automation standards, governance and best practice across sites.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering and senior leaders to identify and deliver strategic improvement opportunities.
• Build future capability through technology, data-driven decision making and industry-leading automation solutions.
