Job summary

MPAU Manufacturing is seeking a Site Automation Lead to design, implement and maintain automated systems across a high‑speed FMCG facility in Sydney. You will lead projects from concept through to implementation, troubleshoot complex issues and drive continuous improvement in reliability, safety and productivity.

You will bring a hands‑on engineering mindset, with strong experience in Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, industrial networks and PLC/SCADA systems, and you will partner with operations to

• Strong experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLCs.
• Expertise across industrial control systems in a FMCG manufacturing environment.

• Hands-on troubleshooting and fault-finding capability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

The Site Automation Lead role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated systems within the FMCG industry. This permanent position offers a chance to work on innovative engineering solutions to optimise manufacturing processes.

Description

As the site's automation leader, you will be responsible for the ongoing performance, reliability and development of automation systems including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, industrial networks, robotics and automated equipment. You will play a key role in troubleshooting complex issues, delivering continuous improvement initiatives, supporting plant upgrades and leading automation projects from concept through to implementation. This is not a desk-based project engineering role. Success in this position requires a hands-on approach and a genuine passion for supporting manufacturing operations.

Profile

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Degree qualifications in Electrical, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering
• Strong experience with Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation PLCs
