Job summary

Melbourne Girls Grammar School in Melbourne seeks a knowledgeable Violin Teacher to join our Music Faculty as a Music Itinerant. The casual role supports the school’s music program through delivering individual violin tuition across Junior and Middle years, in a collaborative, student-centered environment.

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to Year 2/3 string programs and to develop a larger teaching load as enrolments grow, with a focus on inspiring and motivating young musicians.

Qualifications

• Strong practical and theoretical knowledge of Violin pedagogy.
• Experience teaching individual Violin lessons to students across a range of ages and abilities.
• Experience working with students across Years 5 to 12.
• A passion for music education and the ability to engage, inspire and motivate young people.
• An inclusive and strengths-based approach to teaching and learning.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic Music Faculty.
