Job summary

BILDGROUP in Mackay, QLD is seeking a Multiskilled Plant Operator to join our Urban Civil Construction team on a permanent basis. You’ll operate a range of plant across earthworks, drainage, pavements, and landscaping, adapting to daily project needs with a flexible approach.

Ideal candidates hold multiple plant tickets ( excavator, grader, roller, skid steer ), a White Card, a valid licence, and a proven track record in civil construction.

Qualifications

• Multiple current plant tickets - excavator, grader, roller, skid steer, or a combination of these.
• Proven experience operating plant on civil construction sites - urban civil, earthworks, drainage, sports field, or landscaping works all relevant.
• A genuinely multiskilled mindset - comfortable moving between machines as the day and project demands change.
• Strong commitment to safety - operate within safe work practices without needing to be reminded.
• Reliable and consistent - the team is small and everyone counts.
• Current White Card (Construction Induction) - must be held prior to start.
• Valid drivers licence - essential for getting between sites across the Mackay region.
• Locally based in Mackay or genuinely ready to make the permanent move.
• Sports field or civil construction experience - directly relevant to our project scope.
• Traffic management accreditation
• HR or MR licence
• First Aid current

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of plant across civil infrastructure and sports field construction works – earthworks, drainage, pavements, and landscaping.
• Jump on whatever is needed that day and switch between machines as required by the project.
• Maintain safety and quality while working within a close-knit crew.

We're looking for a Multiskilled Plant Operator to join our Urban Civil Construction team permanently based in Mackay, QLD. You'll be operating a range of plant across a mix of civil infrastructure and sports field construction works - earthworks, drainage, pavements, and landscaping - as part of a close-knit crew that gets things done and takes real pride in the work they deliver.

This is not a single-machine role. We need someone who can jump on whatever is needed that day - excavator, grader, roller, skid steer - without making it a big deal. If the machine needs an operator and you hold the ticket, you get on it. That flexibility is what makes this team work, and it is what we are looking for in the person who joins it.
