Job summary

GForce Recruitment is seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Plant Operator for a busy waste management site in Australia. You will operate a range of heavy plant and equipment, support waste placement, and assist with resource recovery and general site duties.

The role requires valid licences for heavy plant, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in outdoor conditions. Occasional overtime and standby may be required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a waste management or resource recovery environment.
• Valid licences and tickets for heavy plant equipment.
• Experience operating compactors, dozers, excavators, loaders, ADTs and hook trucks.
• Commitment to workplace health and safety and compliance procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and around moving vehicles.
• Willingness to undertake occasional overtime and standby when required.
• Police check clearance and right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy plant and equipment, including dozers, compactors, excavators, front-end loaders, articulated dump trucks, graders and hook trucks.
• Operate GPS-equipped machinery and follow landfill cell design plans.
• Complete pre-start checks, routine maintenance, greasing and cleaning of plant and equipment.
• Identify, document and report equipment defects or damage.
• Assist with recovering recyclable materials and diverting waste from landfill.
• Direct customers and vehicles on site to maintain safe and efficient access.
• Maintain site cleanliness and general housekeeping.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, risk assessments and environmental compliance requirements.
• Work towards agreed productivity targets while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Multi Skilled Plant Operator

gforce is seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Plant Operator to join a waste management and resource recovery operation. This role is ideal for a skilled operator with experience in heavy plant and machinery who takes pride in working safely, efficiently and as part of a team.

About the Role

You will play an important role in the safe and efficient operation of a landfill and transfer station, operating a range of heavy plant and equipment while supporting waste placement, resource recovery and general site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy plant and equipment, including dozers, compactors, excavators, front-end loaders, articulated dump trucks, graders and hook trucks.
• Operate GPS-equipped machinery and follow landfill cell design plans.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Considerable experience in a waste management or resource recovery environment.
• Strong operating skills and appropriate licences and tickets for relevant heavy plant and equipment.
• Experience operating machinery such as compactors, dozers, excavators, front-end loaders, articulated dump trucks and hook trucks.
• A demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety and compliance procedures.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work efficiently, meet productivity targets and follow operational plans.
• The role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and around moving vehicles, dust, noise and waste.
• The ability to undertake occasional overtime, assist with emergency call-outs and be available for standby when required.
• Appointment is subject to a satisfactory police check and evidence of the right to work in Australia.
