Job summary

gforce is seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Plant Operator to join a waste management and resource recovery operation in Melbourne. You will operate a range of heavy plant and ensure safe, efficient site operations in all weather conditions.

The role requires licences for heavy equipment, focus on safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; overtime and standby may be required.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in a waste management or resource recovery environment.
• Hold relevant heavy plant licences/tickets (HR, etc.).
• Current Victorian driver’s licence.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy plant and equipment including dozers, compactors, excavators, and loaders.
• Follow landfill cell design plans and site operation procedures.
• Perform pre-start checks and basic maintenance tasks.
• Identify equipment defects and report issues.
• Assist with waste placement, resource recovery, and site operations.
• Direct customers and vehicles to ensure safe site access.
• Maintain cleanliness and uphold safety standards.
• Work toward production targets while maintaining quality.
