Job summary

Strait Link is seeking experienced Multi Combination Drivers for our busy depot in Port Melbourne.

These positions involve road transport duties, local cartage, and occasional forklift work, with a focus on safety and compliance in a service‑oriented environment. The roster includes day and night shifts with some weekend work.

Qualifications

• Year 12 (Year 10 minimum) with Year 12 preferred.
• Class HC Vehicle Licence with MC essential/endorsement.
• MSIC and TAS Ports Inducted (preferred but not essential).
• Proven delivery and freight experience.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual handling.
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and paperwork.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Full knowledge of road regulations including load restraint and fatigue management.

Responsibilities

• Drive Multi Combination Vehicles for the Port Melbourne depot.
• Complete local cartage duties as delegated by supervisor.
• Assist as forklift operator when necessary.
• Maintain safety, compliance and service‑oriented operations.
• Roster mostly day & night shifts, with some weekend work.

We have an opportunity for experienced Multi Combination Drivers for our busy depot in Port Melbourne.

These positions carry a responsibility for all aspects of Road Transport Rules and Regulations which should be conducted in a competent, safe and law abiding manner with due consideration to an efficient and service-oriented environment. Completing any local cartage job as delegated by the supervisor can also be required, as well assisting as a forklift operator when necessary.

The majority of roster will be day & night shift work that includes some weekends.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Minimum Year 10 Secondary Education (Year 12 preferred)
• Class HC Vehicle Licence (MC essential)
• MSIC and TAS Ports Inducted (preferred but not essential)
• Proven delivery and freight experience
• Have a focus to always work safely
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Physically fit and willing to do manual handling
• Basic knowledge of computer systems
• Numeracy and literacy Skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Full knowledge of federal and state road regulations including load restraint and fatigue management
