Job summary

Strait Link in Launceston is seeking an experienced Heavy Rigid Driver to join our busy depot. The role covers all local cartage duties and compliance with road transport rules and regulations. The roster is primarily day shifts with some weekend work.

You will operate in a safety‑conscious, service‑driven environment and may be delegated local cartage tasks by the supervisor. Applicants must have HR licence, basic education, and the ability to work without direct supervision; pre‑employment

Qualifications

• Minimum Year 10 secondary education; Year 12 preferred.
• HR Vehicle Licence is required.
• MSIC is preferred but not essential.
• Proven delivery and freight experience.
• Focus on working safely at all times.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Full knowledge of federal and state road regulations including load restraint and fatigue management.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for all aspects of road transport rules and regulations in a competent, safe, and law‑abiding manner.
• Complete local cartage jobs as delegated by the supervisor when required.
• Roster predominantly day shifts, with some weekend work.

Job Description

We are looking for anexperienced Heavy Rigid Driver for our busy depot in Launceston.

The positioncarries a responsibility for all aspects of Road Transport Rules and Regulations which should be conducted in a competent, safe and law-abiding manner with due consideration to an efficient and service-oriented environment. Completing any local cartage job as delegated by the supervisor can also be required.

The majority of roster will be days that includes some weekends.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
