Job summary

Lake Imaging is seeking an aspiring or experienced MRI Radiographer to step into a leadership role in Ballarat, working across 1.5T and 3T Siemens MRI scanners at the St John of God Hospital site.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, refine imaging protocols, and contribute to a high-performing MRI service within IDX’s national network.

Qualifications

• MRI radiography experience required or strongly considered for aspiring leaders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement across multidisciplinary teams.
• Clinical imaging qualifications and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide MRI imaging leadership and mentorship within a busy service.
• Collaborate with radiologists and referrers across neuro, body, and cardiac MRI.
• Refine protocols and drive quality assurance in a national network.
• Support ongoing education and subspecialty training for the team.

Job description

Lake Imaging, founded in 2002, has become the largest radiology provider in central and western Victoria. With more than 19 clinics, we provide a wide range of diagnostic imaging services to St John of God private hospitals, community-based clinics, and specialty centres in Melbourne, Ballarat, Geelong, and Warrnambool.

Lake Imaging, part of the Integral Diagnostics (IDX) Group, is seeking an aspiring or experienced MRI Radiographer to step into a leadership opportunity based in Ballarat. This role offers the opportunity to operate both 1.5T and 3T Siemens MRI scanners within our busy St John of God Hospital site. You will work closely with radiologists and specialist referrers across a broad and evolving MRI service, including advanced neuro, body imaging, cardiac studies and working with pacemakers / stimulators and sedation patients.

Beyond technical delivery, you will play a key role in leading people, refining protocols, and fostering a high-performing team environment. Supported by IDX's national networks-including quality assurance forums, clinical collaboration groups, and ongoing implant and subspecialty training-you will be equipped to grow both personally and professionally.

You are an aspiring or experienced MRI Radiographer with a passion for leadership, collaboration, and delivering high-quality patient care. Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience in MRI Radiography
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement capability
• Proven ability to contribute to, or lead, a multidisciplinary team
• Qualifications in Medical Imaging (Bachelor of Science or equivalent)
• Postgraduate qualifications in MRI (highly desirable)
• Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to mentor, support, and develop team members
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical environment
