Job summary

Star Track Express PL is seeking a Heavy Vehicle Truck Driver at the Canberra Road Facility in Hume, ACT. You will deliver for our local community, work with a supportive team and uphold safety standards on every run.

You’ll be the face of our trusted service, driving our modern trucks, performing daily safety checks, loading/unloading freight, and meeting customer needs in a timely, friendly manner.

Qualifications

• Holds a heavy vehicle MR licence with manual transmission experience
• Performs daily vehicle safety checks
• Demonstrates safety-focused driving and loading practices
• Has customer-centric communication and teamwork
• Meets safe working load limit of 130 kg or less

As our Heavy Vehicle Truck Driver, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You might not be working from home, but you’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that!

You’ll be

• Safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility.


• Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.


• Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups. The role will consist between looseload and bulk deliveries.


• Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups.

You’ll be

• Safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility.


• Completing your own daily vehicle safety check.


• Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups.


• Returning to our operational centres to unload pick-ups.


• Working the hours between 7.30am - 4.00pm (Monday - Friday). Overtime will depend on business requirements.

About you

• You’re a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality who loves autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player.


• You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.

You’ll also need to

• Hold a relevant heavy vehicle licence (MR license + manual transmission experience)


• Be fit enough to load and unload freight items of all different shapes, sizes and weights, frequently in and out of a truck.


• Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility.


• Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills.


• You will need to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less.


• Be prepared to provide a driving history report, undergo a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening and national police checks.
