Job summary

Cheltenham Autocare, part of SDPN Group Pty Ltd, is a bayside Melbourne automotive workshop offering log book servicing, diagnostics and general repairs. A full-time Motor Mechanic will work up to 38 hours/week in a close-knit team, with an annual salary of AUD 75,000–85,000 plus superannuation.

Applicants should have AQF certificates and at least 1 year of relevant experience, a current driver’s licence, and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as a Motor Mechanic in a light vehicle workshop.
• A current driver’s licence is required.
• Full-time availability and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out manufacturer‑compliant log book servicing and general servicing on customers' vehicles.
• Diagnose faults using workshop scan tools and perform road tests to confirm root causes.
• Strip down and rebuild engine components and assemblies as needed with correct procedures and torque settings.
• Explain diagnoses and recommended repairs to customers with clear language and photos.
