Job summary

Auto Service Experts Group in Melton, VIC seeks a qualified Motor Mechanic for a full-time role (38 hours/week). You will diagnose, service and repair a wide range of passenger vehicles, maintaining high workmanship and customer service standards.

The position offers a competitive salary of AU$80,000 per year plus 12% superannuation, modern workshop facilities and opportunities to develop advanced diagnostic skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate IV or relevant automotive qualification.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Motor Mechanic/Automotive Technician.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience servicing and repairing a variety of makes and models.
• Good knowledge of engines, brakes, steering, suspension and vehicle electrical systems.
• Ability to use electronic diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and related components.
• Disassemble and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering systems, and other vehicle parts for inspection.
• Repair or replace worn and defective components, following technical manuals as needed during reassembly.
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups to enhance vehicle performance and meet environmental standards.
• Reassemble engines and related parts after completing repairs.
• Test and adjust mechanical parts after being repaired to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthy certificates or outline required repairs to meet roadworthiness standards.
• Use computerised diagnostic tools to assess vehicle systems.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced full-time Motor Mechanic (38 hours per week) to join our team. Task & Responsibilities

• Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and related components

• Follow manufacturer service manuals, technical specifications and workplace procedures


• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment


• Advise customers on work performance, general vehicle conditions and future repair requirements


• Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of safety, quality and workmanship

Qualifications & Experience
