SAKS Motor Works in Carlton, NSW seeks a qualified Motor Mechanic (General) to service, diagnose, repair and maintain a range of light motor vehicles. The successful applicant will ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The role offers $80,000–$85,000 per annum plus superannuation. Requirements include Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and at least 1 year of experience in servicing, diagnostics and repairs.

Qualifikationen

• Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or an equivalent automotive trade qualification.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in vehicle servicing, diagnostics and repairs.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults using testing/equipment.
• Knowledge of engines, transmissions, steering, suspension and braking systems.
• Ability to dismantle, inspect and repair components per service requirements.
• Comfort with scheduled servicing and mechanical repairs on light vehicles.
• Ability to interpret service information using manufacturer specs/manuals.
• Experience with performance-related mechanical work is advantageous.
• Ability to test and verify repaired vehicles/components.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Teamwork in a workshop to maintain high workmanship standards.
• Commitment to safety, workshop organisation and customer service.

Aufgaben

• Service, assess and repair light vehicles and major systems.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Dismantle engines to inspect wear and damage.
• Replace or recondition defective parts and reassemble.
• Perform routine servicing, oil/filter changes, brake maintenance.
• Road test vehicles and ensure roadworthy standards.
• Prepare repair estimates and documentation as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop.
• Support apprentices or junior staff as required.
