Job summary

Victory Auto World in Tweed Heads South is seeking a skilled Motor Mechanic to diagnose, service and repair a wide range of vehicles to ensure peak performance and safety.

You will work with a professional team, interpret service manuals and electrical diagrams, perform logbook servicing to manufacturer standards, conduct road tests and document repairs precisely. Requires AQF Certificate III in Automotive and at least 1 year of hands-on experience; salary AUD 75,000–85,000 plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in vehicle diagnostics, servicing and repairs.
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to read service manuals, diagrams and diagnostic data.
• Knowledge of Australian automotive standards and safety regulations.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing and logbook maintenance to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic tools.
• Inspect and repair braking, steering, suspension and driveline systems.
• Repair and replace engine, cooling and transmission components as required.
• Conduct road tests to verify repairs.
• Complete job cards and service reports accurately.
• Communicate repair findings and required work with service team.

About the Role

Victory Auto World is seeking a skilled and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our automotive team. This role involves diagnosing, servicing, and repairing a wide range of vehicles to ensure optimal performance and safety. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a solid understanding of Australian automotive standards and workshop practices.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Perform scheduled servicing and logbook maintenance to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using dealership diagnostic tools.
• Inspect and repair braking, steering, suspension, and driveline systems.
• Repair and replace engine, cooling, and transmission-related components as required.
• Conduct road tests to confirm issues and verify repairs are completed correctly.
• Ensure all work meets dealership quality, safety, and manufacturer procedures.
• Complete job cards, service reports, and repair documentation accurately.
• Communicate repair findings and additional work required with service advisors and supervisors.

Skills and Experience Required:

• AQF Certificate III qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology or equivalent qualification or relevant industry experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience in vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
• Strong understanding of automotive mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to interpret vehicle service manuals, technical diagrams, and diagnostic data
• Knowledge of Australian automotive standards and workplace health and safety regulations
• High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
