Job summary

Small Doses Cafe in St Leonard's is seeking an enthusiastic Sandwich Hand Customer Service to join our team. This role combines hands-on food preparation with friendly customer engagement, making you the face of our cafe.

You will prepare fresh sandwiches, take orders, handle tills, keep the workspace hygienic, restock supplies, and help customers with recommendations. Availability Monday–Friday with a 6am/7am start is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food preparation or hospitality environment, ideally in a cafe or sandwich shop setting.
• Available everyday Monday to Friday with a 6am or 7am start.
• Strong customer service skills with clear, courteous communication.
• Basic food preparation techniques and attention to detail.
• Reliable, punctual and flexible for a part-time schedule.
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety practices.
• Positive attitude and enthusiasm for delivering a great customer experience.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh sandwiches and other items to order, following recipes and maintaining quality standards.
• Take customer orders face-to-face and via phone/online channels.
• Operate the till and process payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic workspace in line with cafe standards.
• Restock ingredients and display items during shifts.
• Engage with customers warmly and offer recommendations.
• Collaborate with team during peak times to keep operations smooth.
• Contribute to a positive cafe atmosphere and uphold the cafe's reputation.
