Job summary

ASX is seeking a leader for its Model Risk Management Group to oversee validation, testing and governance of material risk models used in clearing and settlement. You will drive independent challenge and reporting to senior management and regulators, ensuring robust risk controls and policy alignment.

You will coach analysts, shape risk framework improvements, and build strong partnerships with Risk, Technology, and governance forums to deliver accurate risk insights.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience applying quantitative analysis to complex financial risk problems.
• Experience in model validation, independent review and challenge, including assessment of assumptions and data.
• Strong knowledge of model risk management frameworks, governance and regulatory expectations.
• Ability to produce clear, senior-level reporting and recommendations for management and regulators.
• Academic qualifications in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, statistics, financial engineering, econometrics, computer science).

Responsibilities

• Lead a second line of defence focused on model risk management activities.
• Provide independent validation, review and challenge of high and medium risk models across clearing and settlement risk.
• Develop and assess challenger or benchmark models for validation and monitoring.
• Support oversight of model performance reporting to governance forums.
• Maintain model inventory, validation records and documentation standards.
• Articulate validation outcomes, limitations and remediation actions to stakeholders.
