Job summary

DWS Group in Sydney is seeking an experienced Mobile Automation Test Manager to lead testing and quality engineering across mobile and web platforms. The role requires strong automation skills on iOS/Android, WebdriverIO, Appium, Playwright, Selenium, and CI/CD integration within DevOps.

DWS is seeking an experienced Mobile Automation Test Manager to lead testing and quality engineering initiatives across customer-facing mobile and digital platforms.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for an experienced automation professional who can define and execute enterprise‑wide test automation strategies while driving quality outcomes across iOS, Android, and web applications. You'll play a key role in shaping automation‑first practices, building scalable frameworks, mentoring teams, and ensuring high-quality delivery across complex digital environments.

Working within a large‑scale enterprise program, you'll provide technical leadership across mobile automation, influence testing strategy, and help drive continuous improvement in quality engineering practices.

Length: Initial 9‑month engagement

Style: Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite

Salary: Up to $760/day (ACN) or up to $180K package (Max Term)

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement the overall test automation strategy and roadmap.
• Lead and mentor automation testing teams across multiple projects.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across mobile and web platforms.
• Establish quality assurance standards, processes, and best practices.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Owners, and Project Managers to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
• Review test plans, test cases, automation scripts, and execution outcomes.
• Track and report testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and defects to stakeholders.
• Drive continuous integration and continuous testing practices within DevOps pipelines.
• Manage test environments, test data, and automation toolsets.
• Support release planning, production deployments, and defect management activities.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation optimisation.
• Champion automation‑first quality engineering practices across delivery teams.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong hands‑on experience delivering automated testing solutions for mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms.
• Expert‑level experience with WebdriverIO and Appium for mobile automation.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Playwright and Selenium for web application automation.
• Experience building and maintaining scalable automation frameworks using JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and quality engineering principles.
• Experience testing customer‑facing digital products, mobile applications, and self‑service platforms.
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps environments.
• Experience with GitHub and source control practices.
• Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools.

Preferred Experience:

• CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
• API automation using Postman or Apidog.
• Device farm platforms including BrowserStack, LambdaTest, or TestMu.
• Exposure to BDD frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Experience within banking, financial services, insurance, or other highly regulated environments.
• Exposure to cloud‑based environments and modern DevOps practices.
• Performance and accessibility testing experience.
• Experience working within large enterprise transformation programmes.
