Job summary

Pirtek Goulburn is seeking an experienced Mobile Service Technician to join our team. This is a full-time on-site role based around Goulburn/Marulan NSW, delivering hydraulic and fluid power solutions directly to customers at their sites.

You will diagnose, repair, and service hydraulic systems, install hoses and fittings, and maintain accurate job records. A valid licence and willingness to travel the Goulburn region are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualification or substantial experience in hydraulic systems, fluid power or automotive trades.
• Experience as Mobile Service Technician or similar customer-facing role.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel in the Goulburn region.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair and maintain hydraulic systems on customer sites.
• Perform routine servicing, maintenance and emergency repairs to minimise downtime.
• Install, test and commission hoses, fittings and related equipment.
• Fault-find and troubleshoot complex hydraulic systems.
• Document work, parts used, labour time and observations for records.
• Maintain inventory of tools and parts in the mobile service vehicle.
• Communicate clearly with customers and explain technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
• Escalate complex issues to the workshop team when required.
• Represent Pirtek professionally and build lasting customer relationships.

Job description

Pirtek Goulburn is seeking an experienced Mobile Service Technician to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position based in the Southern Tablelands area around Goulburn and Marulan NSW where you will be responsible for delivering high-quality hydraulic and fluid power solutions directly to our customers on-site.

As a Mobile Service Technician, you will be the face of our company, providing expert technical support, maintenance, and repairs to a diverse client base across the Goulburn/Marulan region. This role is critical to maintaining customer satisfaction and driving the success of our mobile service operations.

What you'll be doing

• Attend customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems and fluid power equipment
• Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs to minimise customer downtime
• Install, test, and commission hydraulic hoses, fittings, and associated equipment according to specifications
• Conduct comprehensive fault-finding and troubleshooting on complex hydraulic systems
• Document all work completed, including parts used, labour time, and technical observations for accurate job records
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and replacement parts in the mobile service vehicle
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical issues and recommend solutions
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
• Liaise with the workshop team to escalat complex issues or arrange additional support when required
• Represent Pirtek professionally and contribute to building strong, long-term customer relationships

What we're looking for

• Recognised qualification or substantial experience in hydraulic systems, fluid power, or automotive mechanical trades
• Proven experience as a Mobile Service Technician, Field Technician, or similar customer-facing technical role
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, pumps, actuators, valves, and fluid power principles
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic equipment with minimal supervision
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in various customer environments
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the Goulburn region
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to customers clearly
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship
• A flexible, customer-focused approach and willingness to respond to emergency service calls
• Current or willingness to obtain relevant certification in health and safety practices
