Job summary

AGA Australia is seeking a dedicated Mobile Plant Technology Apprentice (2nd–4th year) for an immediate start in Laverton North, VIC. You’ll gain hands-on experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing mobile plant and heavy equipment.

The role offers structured on-the-job training, mentoring, and a nationally recognised Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology, with a supportive team and a clear path to a long-term career in the heavy machinery industry.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills required.
• Ability to work under pressure and follow directions.
• Demonstrated initiative under guidance of tradespeople.
• Must hold a driver's license and have reliable transport.
• Australian citizen or permanent resident status required.
• Willingness to attend RTO/TAFE training.
• Genuine interest in heavy machinery and earthmoving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Learn from experienced technicians while servicing and maintaining mobile plant equipment.
• Assist in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic faults.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment.
• Gain hands-on experience repairing and replacing components across machines.
• Follow WHS procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training and stay updated with industry developments.
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality service outcomes.
• Interact professionally with customers and stakeholders.

As our next Mobile Plant Technology Apprentice, you'll gain hands‑on experience maintaining, servicing, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of mobile plant and heavy equipment under the guidance of experienced industry professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop practical skills, earn while you learn, and complete a nationally recognised trade qualification. You'll work as part of a supportive team while building the knowledge and experience needed for a successful career in the mobile plant industry.

The role is Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.
