Job summary

Alstom in Melbourne is seeking a Mobile Maintenance Technician (Electrical) to perform maintenance across the Next Generation Tram (NGT) fleet. Based primarily at our Maidstone facility, you will contribute to keeping a modern tram fleet safe, reliable and ready for service, with some work across the network.

You will work with a skilled team, apply fault diagnosis and maintenance, support improvements, and ensure safety and quality procedures are followed to deliver dependable tram operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across electrical and mechanical systems.
• Clear communication and ability to work with others.
• A Grade Electrical Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs across electrical and mechanical systems
• Assist with vehicle modifications, retrofits and continuous improvement programs
• Provide technical support, participate in vehicle recovery activities and help resolve operational faults
• Accurately record faults and repairs, support data collection and analyse recurring trends affecting vehicle performance and reliability
• Help review and optimise maintenance regimes to improve efficiency, reduce risk and control costs
• Follow OH&S, quality and operational procedures while contributing to a positive, collaborative workplace.

About you:

• Knowledge of rolling stock equipment, maintenance practices and maintenance operations
• Understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across electrical and mechanical systems
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others when required
• A practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills
• Flexibility to work across roster requirements
• A Grade Electrical Licence
