Job summary

Orica is seeking a Diesel Fitter to join the South Surface Coal team in Upper Hunter Valley. You will perform servicing, repairs, and breakdown maintenance on mobile equipment and plant, contributing to reliability of the fleet in a fast-paced, safety‑driven environment.

You'll apply your mechanical skills, work with hydraulic and electrical systems, and support continuous improvement while growing your career in a truly global mining leader.

Qualifications

• Experience with mobile plant equipment and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical systems.
• Strong maintenance process understanding and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and follow structured procedures.
• Willingness to obtain required clearances and permits.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing, repairs, and breakdown maintenance on mobile equipment and plant.
• Maintain and support Mobile Manufacturing Units and fixed plant in line with standards.
• Provide technical support on-site and remotely.
• Assist with equipment troubleshooting and fault finding to minimise downtime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify recurring issues.
• Support and mentor team members and contractors while promoting safety.
