Job summary

Orica Limited in New South Wales is seeking a Diesel Fitter to join our South Surface Coal team in Boggabri, NSW. You will perform routine servicing and repairs on mobile equipment and plant to ensure reliable operations and safety.

The role requires a Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical (Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Fitting) and hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems, along with a proactive approach to maintenance and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Automotive Mechanical (Heavy Vehicle / Diesel Fitting) or equivalent.
• Experience with mobile plant equipment and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and basic electrical systems.
• Strong maintenance processes and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently, solve problems and follow structured procedures.
• Willingness to obtain required clearances and permits.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled servicing, repairs and breakdown maintenance on mobile equipment and plant.
• Maintain and support Mobile Manufacturing Units and fixed plant to standard.
• Provide technical support on-site and remotely.
• Assist with troubleshooting and fault finding to minimise downtime.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues.
• Support and mentor team members and contractors while upholding safety culture.
