Job summary

BLACKROC Recruitment is seeking Six APS6 Mobile & Automation Testers for a 12-month contract in Australia, hybrid at client sites. The role focuses on mobile automation, API testing and AI-enabled testing within a large government program.

You will design, implement and maintain automated tests, validate solutions and ensure quality across sprints. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in mobile testing, hands-on automation experience with Playwright/Selenium, and strong API testing skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in mobile application testing.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks.
• UI automation with Playwright and/or Selenium WebDriver, plus BDD with Cucumber.
• REST API testing using Postman and API automation.
• Experience testing Salesforce and MuleSoft solutions.
• CI/CD pipelines experience with Jenkins and Bamboo.
• Experience testing AI-enabled applications and features.
• Ability to translate requirements into test scenarios within Agile teams.

12 Month Contract + 12 Month Extension | Australia Wide | Hybrid

We are currently seeking 6 x APS6 Mobile & Automation Testers to support the delivery of digital solutions within a large Australian Government environment.

This is a hands‑on testing role focused on mobile application automation, API testing and emerging AI-enabled capabilities. You’ll work within multidisciplinary Agile teams to build and maintain automated test suites, validate solutions, identify defects and provide quality assurance across the delivery lifecycle.

You will be responsible for:

• Designing, developing, executing and maintaining automated tests across mobile applications and digital solutions
• Performing functional, integration, regression, end-to-end and exploratory testing
• Developing reusable automated test suites and frameworks
• Testing REST APIs using Postman and writing automation scripts for API testing
• Testing Salesforce and MuleSoft-based solutions
• Using tools such as Playwright, Selenium WebDriver and Cucumber/BDD frameworks
• Testing and validating AI-enabled features and solutions, including the accuracy, consistency and reliability of AI-generated outputs
• Developing test scenarios and data covering expected, unexpected and edge‑case conditions
• Translating business and technical requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria into effective test scenarios and automation coverage
• Identifying, investigating and managing defects through to resolutionIntegrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as Jenkins and Bamboo
• Analysing test results and providing clear reporting on defects, risks and solution quality
• Contributing to the ongoing improvement of automation frameworks, testing standards and QA practices
• Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary Agile delivery teams

To be considered, you will need to demonstrate:

• 5+ years' experience in mobile application testing, including developing and executing automated tests across mobile platforms
• Strong hands‑on experience developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and reusable test suites
• Expert hands‑on experience with UI functional automation, particularly Playwright and/or Selenium WebDriver, and BDD frameworks such as Cucumber
• Experience with REST API testing using Postman and automation of API testing
• Experience testing Salesforce and MuleSoft solutions
• Experience with Jenkins, Bamboo and automated test pipelines
• Strong experience across functional, integration, regression and end‑to‑end testing
• Demonstrated experience testing AI-enabled applications, features or services
• Ability to interpret requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios, test cases and automation coverage
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills
• Experience working effectively within Agile, multidisciplinary delivery teams
• Experience with mobile automation technologies such as Appium, Espresso or XCUITest
• Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Experience testing digital solutions within Australian Government or similarly complex environments
• Experience applying accessibility considerations to digital testing and development

Contract: 12 months + 12 month extension
