Job summary

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking an ICT Design Engineer to join a global team of engineers delivering scalable data center infrastructure. You will develop pathway, space, and cabling designs, and review submittals to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency across AWS data centers in Australia.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in data center infrastructure, planning and commissioning ICT networks, with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering. Occasional travel to sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
• 2+ years in infrastructure, construction or data center operations.
• Experience with ICT/telecommunications infrastructure commissioning.
• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications and submittals.
• Professional Engineer License (preferred).
• Knowledge of regional building codes and regulations (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Develop pathway, space and cabling designs with construction specifications.
• Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs.
• Review ICT pathway, cabling and equipment submittals.
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues quickly.
• Engage with suppliers to define product requirements and explore emerging tech.
• Support new design activities to improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and install time.
• Travel 20+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors.
