Shaw Talent has been retained by a global engineering consultancy recognised for technical excellence and long term client partnerships across the built environment. Their mission critical practice is established, well regarded, and delivering live hyperscale and colocation projects for some of the most active data centre developers and operators across the globe.

The practice has seen a notable uplift in successful project tenders and heads into the new FY with a strong pipeline. Australia's data centre market is generating some of the strongest activity seen across construction, and they are well positioned for growth. As a result, we are looking for someone to head up their Data Centre business in APAC: leading clients and projects across ANZ, and growing the delivery and technical capability across Asia.

The Opportunity

As Mission Critical Director, APAC, you will:

• Lead relationships with major data centre clients, developers and operators, deepening existing partnerships and opening new ones
• Provide project leadership across the practice's most complex hyperscale and colocation work
• Grow the practice's market share as a central figure in bids, pursuits and client presentations
• Build internal capability across both delivery and technical teams, lifting standards, mentoring senior engineers and creating succession depth
• Shape and lead the growth of the ANZ business, with further expansion planned across Asia
• Sit on the national executive committee, influencing the direction of the wider business

Who You Are

• Currently operating at Director, Technical Director, Associate Director or Principal level within the Mission Critical team of an Australian engineering design consultancy
• 12+ years' experience with deep data centre credentials across hyperscale and/or colocation projects
• Established relationships with data centre clients, developers or operators in the Australian market
• A track record of winning work and growing a team, practice or client account in Australia
• Strong technical grounding in either electrical infrastructure or mechanical and cooling systems
• Committed to mentoring and developing the engineers around you
• Chartered status (CPEng, NER, CEng or equivalent) highly regarded

Package

Up to $400,000 total package, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
