Job description

Ministerial Coordination Officer
Full-time Permanent

Details: Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? Are you highly organised, detail-oriented and passionate about supporting meaningful work that makes a difference for the ACT community?

Strategic Policy Division is looking for a motivated Ministerial Coordination Officer to join our team. The division leads high-profile policy, reform and governance work across government, partnering with stakeholders to deliver better outcomes for children, young people and families, housing and homelessness, disability, multicultural affairs, veterans, seniors, women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander affairs, and broader human services reform.

In this pivotal role, you will be at the centre of the division's operations, coordinating ministerial, cabinet and assembly business, managing executive workflows, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality briefings, correspondence, reports and submissions. You will also provide executive support, maintain critical tracking systems and work collaboratively with colleagues across government to achieve key priorities.

We're looking for someone who can confidently manage competing priorities, exercise sound judgement, and build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You will bring exceptional organisational skills, a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality outcomes.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role in the Australian or ACT Public Service is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the use of HP TRIM is highly desirable.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
