Mining Surveyor: Drone Scans & 3D Site Modeling

Job summary

EPSA Group is seeking a Surveyor for our Millmerran operation in Queensland. You will report to the Senior Surveyor and provide survey support to the project, including RPAS surveys, 3D modelling, and surface charting using GPS, drones and total stations.

Ideal candidates hold tertiary surveying qualifications, experience in open cut mining or civil construction is preferred, and proficiency with Maptek Vulcan, Point Studio or Deswik is advantageous. A current driver’s licence is required.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in surveying or equivalent.
• Open cut mining and/or civil construction experience preferred but not necessary.
• RPAS up to 25kgs.
• Strong technical and analytical skills.
• Strong organisational, communication and planning skills.
• Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills and safety behaviour.
• Experience using survey software including Maptek Vulcan, Point Studio, Deswik or similar preferred.
• Current drivers licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide Survey Support to the project.
• Assist the Technical Services Department to meet operational needs.
• Conduct daily volume calculations.
• Complete on-site RPAS drone surveys/scans/photos/incident reporting.
• Create 3D models of mining sites using design software and digital imaging.
• Chart surface areas using GPS/ Drones/ Total Stations.
