Job summary

MLG Oz is a PERTH-based mining services company seeking a Purchasing Officer to join the Inventory & Purchasing team. The role is site-based with FIFO from Perth, operating in a fast-paced mining environment to keep site operations running smoothly.

You will raise purchase orders, manage supplier deliveries, control inventory and work with the team to optimise costs and stock levels. Candidates should have mining experience, a C Class licence, and Forklift certification.

Qualifications

• Based in Perth (Essential).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Purchasing, Stores or similar role (Essential).
• Previous mining industry experience (Essential).

Responsibilities

• Raising and managing purchase orders for site materials and equipment.
• Liaising with suppliers to monitor orders and delivery schedules.
• Receiving, storing and issuing goods efficiently.
• Managing inventory levels and completing regular stocktakes.
• Negotiating with suppliers to achieve best outcomes for the business.
• Monitoring supplier performance and maintaining JIT inventory principles.
• Loading and unloading freight in accordance with Chain of Responsibility requirements.
• Ensuring stores and hazardous materials are managed safely and in line with HSE requirements.
• Analysing inventory trends and preparing reports to support purchasing decisions.
• Maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
