Job summary

South32 Group Operations Pty. Ltd. in Australia is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a permanent full‑time role on a 7/7 day/night FIFO roster, with options for DIDO from Mount Isa.

You will carry out sample preparation, analysis and reporting across production, metallurgy, geology and marketing streams to agreed standards and turnaround times. You will review and maintain Safe Work Instructions, keep the Laboratory and equipment safe and reliable, manage reagent stocks and QAQC remedial

Qualifications

No formal qualifications, but any relevant trade certification or educational qualification is highly regarded.
Forklift license is desirable.
Current manual Driver’s License is required.

Responsibilities

Review and maintenance of Safe Work Instructions and operating Procedures.
Maintaining the Laboratory and its equipment in a safe and reliable state.
Maintenance of Laboratory overheads (reagent preparations, consumables).
Review QAQC and initiate remedial action for out-of-specification results.
