South32 is hiring a Laboratory Technician for its Cannington operation in northwest Queensland. This permanent full-time role operates on a 7/7 day/night FIFO from Townsville/Brisbane or DIDO from the Mount Isa region.

The technician will carry out sample preparation, analysis and reporting across production, metallurgy, geology and marketing streams, adhering to standard turnaround times. The role requires attention to detail, collaboration with a safety-conscious team, and knowledge of lab

Formación

• No formal qualifications required, but any relevant trade certification or educational qualification is highly regarded.
• Forklift license is desirable
• Current manual Driver's License
• Prior experience in a similar role in a mining or production laboratory is desirable

Responsabilidades

• Carry out sample preparation, analysis and reporting across production, metallurgy, geology and marketing streams.
• Review and maintain Safe Work Instructions and operating Procedures.
• Maintain the Laboratory and its equipment in a safe and reliable state.
• Manage laboratory overheads (reagents, consumables) and investigate out-of-specification results.
