Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Newman is seeking a skilled Technician - Field Service on a 2/1 FIFO roster to service mining equipment and power generation engines. You will fly from Perth for 14 days on-site, providing breakdown and scheduled maintenance across Pilbara projects.

The role demands heavy vehicle mechanic qualifications, strong diagnostics, and familiarity with Hitachi/Komatsu/Liebherr gear. A safe-work mindset and rigorous documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Australian standards).
• Experience servicing HHP diesel products in field service; Cummins engines preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and IT capabilities.
• Experience with Hitachi, Komatsu or Liebherr equipment preferred.
• Sound knowledge of safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver first-class service across mining, automotive and power generation.
• Repair and maintain heavy diesel products on breakdowns and mine sites.
• Diagnose and repair engines; rebuild and recondition components.
• Complete service documentation and records via worksheets or systems.
• Adhere to health, safety & environmental policies and report issues.
• Assist with warranty claims and time sheets as required.
