Job summary

Express Employment Professionals – Sydney NSW is seeking an experienced MIG Welder for ongoing work in Smithfield. The role focuses on MIG welding of mild steel and interpreting technical drawings within a safe, well-maintained workshop environment.

The ideal candidate will have MIG welding experience, strong attention to detail, and be reliable with a commitment to quality. This is a casual/temporary on-site position with Monday–Friday hours in a stable workshop setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in MIG welding and mild steel fabrication.
• Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Reliable, punctual, able to work independently and in a team.
• Must have full PPE including welding helmet, gloves, and steel-cap boots.

Responsibilities

• Fabricating and welding mild steel components independently.
• Performing MIG welding on 6mm fillets.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering plans.
• Handling, cutting, and lifting mild steel materials safely.
• Producing high-quality welds and finishes.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe workspace.
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures.
