Job summary

Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation invites a Registered Midwife to join the Aboriginal Families First Initiative - 2000 Days. The role focuses on culturally safe, family-centred midwifery across pregnancy and early parenthood in the Upper Hunter region.

You will collaborate with Aboriginal Health Workers/Practitioners, GPs and allied health professionals to provide coordinated care and support for women, babies and families from pregnancy through early childhood.

Qualifications

• Qualified and registered Midwife with current practicing certificate.
• Child and Family Health Certification.
• Registered with AHPRA and able to meet registration requirements.
• Experienced or passionate about working with women, babies and families.
• Committed to culturally safe and trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional midwifery care to women and families.
• Deliver antenatal and postnatal education and support.
• Promote maternal and infant health and wellbeing.
• Identify health, social and emotional needs early.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
• Collaborate with GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, social workers and allied health professionals.
• Support continuity of care and referrals between services.
