Job summary

Ungooroo Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a compassionate Social Worker to join the Aboriginal Families First Initiative - 2000 Days. The role focuses on early intervention, prevention and practical support for Aboriginal families from pregnancy through early childhood.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess needs, connect families with services and support culturally safe practice, aiming to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in Social Work is essential.
• Registration or membership requirements should be met.
• Experience with children, families or communities is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide family-centred psychosocial support to families.
• Identify factors affecting wellbeing of parents, babies and children.
• Support parents to build confidence and resilience.
• Advocate and provide practical information and referrals.
• Develop referral pathways and coordinate with partners.
• Maintain case documentation and ensure confidentiality.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams including midwives and GPs.
