Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join the Microbiology team at Gosford Hospital. The role supports temporary part-time and casual positions within the laboratory, contributing to a high-standard pathology service.

The incumbent will perform range of microbiology investigations, work with Laboratory Information Systems, and participate in quality and safety programs in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge and experience in diagnostic microbiology and LIS usage.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Team-based with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a range of laboratory investigations and tests (manual and automated) following established methods.
• Prepare materials and maintain equipment in line with lab procedures.
• Support quality systems and ensure timely delivery of results.
