Job summary

Water Corporation in WA seeks a Meter Reader to cover outdoor, independent work, reading meters, diagnosing basic issues, and supporting customers. The role emphasizes activity, safety, and daily walking across various neighborhoods.

You’ll start early between 6am and 9am in summer, hold a WA Class C Driver’s Licence, and work outdoors in all weather. Applicants should be able to walk long distances each day and communicate effectively with customers.

What You Can Expect With This Role

As a Meter Reader, your day will be active and varied. You’ll be:

• Conducting meter readings and testing taps
• Assisting with meter maintenance and identifying water-related issues
• Reporting access problems and non-compliant water services
• Reviewing meter reports and supporting customer enquiries

This role involves plenty of walking, often between 10km-15km a day, so being physically fit is essential. You’ll be working independently, often outdoors in all weather conditions, and safety will always be your top priority.

Your Skills And Experience

• You can start each day between 6am and 9am in the summer (Times change due to the seasons and departmental needs)
• You hold a WA Class C Driver’s Licence
• You’re physically fit and able to walk over 10km a day
• You’re comfortable working independently
• You always put safety first
• You have exceptional communication skills
