Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking a field-based Meter Reader in New South Wales. You will walk to meter locations, use a handheld device to find meters, and record readings while adhering to safety and scheduling requirements.

The role is casual, outdoors, and active, with full training provided. No previous meter-reading experience is required, and you will join a supportive team as part of Downer’s broader Utilities contracts.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to walk long distances and work outdoors in all weather.
• Strong time management and reliability.
• Excellent customer service and friendly communication.

Responsibilities

• Find meters and enter readings using the provided device.
• Follow safety procedures and schedules while performing readings.
• Complete readings accurately and on time.
