Job summary

Peninsula Metal Recycling is seeking a hands-on Scrap Metal Technician to dismantle and process items like air conditioning units, solar panels and doors. You will safely remove refrigerants after licensing, strip metals, and sort materials into correct grades while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

The role is permanent full-time, outdoors, with a Monday–Friday roster. On-the-job PPE is provided; ARCtick licensing is paid for by us, and training is offered.

Qualifications

• Full work rights in Australia.
• Willing to obtain ARCtick licence (paid for by us).
• Able to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting up to 25kg, and to be on your feet all day.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
• Comfortable working safely and always wearing the right PPE.
• Confident using hand tools.

Job description

This is a hands-on role, dismantling and sorting material so it's ready for recycling. You'll be processing air conditioning units, solar hot water panels, and screen doors, safely removing refrigerant from A/C units once licensed, stripping and sorting brass and copper, processing whatever else comes through the gate, and separating materials into the correct grades and bins while keeping your work area clean, tidy and safe.

About you

• Full work rights in Australia

• Able to read and follow safety instructions and signage
• Reliable and punctual, with your own reliable means of transport to get to work every day
• Honest and trustworthy.
• Willing to provide a current police check

Permanent full-time hours with a steady, Monday to Friday roster

Paid training, including your ARCtick refrigerant handling licence, plenty of other opportunities for the right candidate. (Truck License, forklift license, etc)
