Unknown Company in Brisbane is seeking a reliable Excavator Operator and/or Container Forklift Operator for a casual role in a busy scrap metal yard. You will operate plant and equipment safely, move materials around the yard, and load/unload containers and trucks.

Must hold a valid driver’s licence with relevant tickets/certificates. Weekend work may be required and there is potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Formación

• Valid driver’s licence and relevant machinery tickets/certificates.
• Experience operating Material Handler, Excavator, and Front End-loader.
• Experience operating Container Forklift up to 48t or/and 50t Shear, 22t Excavator, Bobcat.
• Able to follow safe operating procedures and comply with company policies.
• Team player with a strong work ethic.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• Previous scrap metal experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Operate plant and equipment safely and confidently.
• Operate container forklifts to move materials across the yard.
• Load and unload bins, containers, and trucks.
• Check and secure loads appropriately.
• Assist in maintaining a safe and tidy work environment.
• Participate in safety initiatives (pre-starts, toolbox talks, incident reporting).
• Outdoor scrap metal recycling yard.
• PPE provided.
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm (occasional weekends required).

We are a privately owned family business with a solid reputation in the Scrap Metal Recycling Industry. Our primary function is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that require end-of-life metals to produce new products.

What are we looking for?

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Excavator Operator and/or Container Forklift Operator who is safety-focused, self-motivated, and customer-service driven. The right person will be flexible, able to prioritise tasks, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to work every day. You must be well-mannered and well-presented. Weekend work may be required on occasion. This is a position we want YOU to take ownership of.

Qualifications and skills

• A valid driver’s licence and relevant machinery tickets/certificates
• Proven experience operating Material Handler, Excavator, and Front End-loader
• Proven experience operating Container Forklift up to 48t or/and 50t Shear, 22t Excavator, Bobcat.
• Ability to follow safe operating procedures and comply with company policies
• Team player with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to safe work practices
• Previous experience in Scrap Metal (Highly favorable)

Please Note: This is is a casual position that requires full availability from Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays as required. There is opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate.
If you do not meet the criteria for the Operator role, but you hold a valid Forklift (LF) licence, you may still be considered for a General Labourer or Trade Assistant position (different rate).
