Job summary

Access Metal Recycling in NSW offers a hands-on yard role with a clear path to operating excavators and machinery. You will start with general yard duties and learn through on-the-job training, progressing as you gain experience and licences.

The opportunity suits someone physically fit, safety-conscious and eager to learn, with no prior scrap metal or machinery experience required. Training will be provided and career growth is supported.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must hold a current driver's licence.
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a hands-on role.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors; safety-conscious and able to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sort and separate scrap metal.
• Maintain a safe, tidy work environment with general yard housekeeping.
• Assist with day-to-day yard operations.
• Progress to operating excavators and other machinery.
• Learn to safely load and unload trucks.

Job description

You will initially be responsible for general yard duties, with the opportunity to develop your skills and progress into machinery operation.

Key responsibilities

• Sorting and separating scrap metal


• General yard housekeeping and maintaining a safe, tidy work environment


• Assisting with day-to-day yard operations


• Progressing to operating excavators and other machinery


• Learning to safely load and unload trucks

About you

• Be at least 18 years of age


• Hold a current driver's licence


• Be reliable, punctual and hardworking


• Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn


• Be physically fit and comfortable working outdoors


• Be safety-conscious and able to follow instructions


• A forklift licence is preferred but not essential


• No previous scrap metal or machinery experience is necessary, as training will be provided
