Job summary

Neami National is seeking a Clinician to join the Mental Health Care Partners Program in Strathpine, QLD. You will work within a multidisciplinary team delivering assessment, care planning, therapeutic support and care coordination to people experiencing mental health challenges.

Working with GPs, Peer Workers and community supports, you will provide recovery‑oriented, person‑centred care to help clients improve wellbeing, access services and reach their recovery goals.

Qualifications

• Formal tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or related.
• Current full registration with AHPRA or AASW where applicable.
• Ongoing CPD and professional registration compliance.
• Experience in mental health practice.
• Ability to partner with government and non-government mental health and community services.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and build trust.
• Ability to engage with people in distress or crisis.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing demands.
• Experience in transdisciplinary teams.

• Part-Time (0.8FTE), Maximum Term Contract until 30 June 2028
• Classification:Registered Nurse Level2 with salary range of $104,826 - $110,122; per annum pro rata+ Superannuation OR
• Classification: Health Professional Level 2 with a salary range of $99,432 - $111,229; per annum pro rata + Superannuation

About your new role

The Mental Health Care Partners Program is a community-based pilot designed to improve access to coordinated mental health support for people experiencing mental health challenges who may benefit from additional assistance to engage with services and achieve their recovery goals.

The program operates through a multidisciplinary team, including clinical and peer-based supports, and works in close partnership with General Practices, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs), and other community services.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the Clinician will work with consumers referred by GPs to provide assessment, care planning, therapeutic support, and care coordination. Working closely with Peer Workers, GPs, and community supports, the Clinician will deliver recovery-oriented, person-centred care that helps consumers improve their wellbeing, navigate services, and achieve their goals. The role contributes to a collaborative model of care that strengthens connections between primary care and mental health services.

What you will bring to the role

• Formal tertiary qualifications in Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or related
• Current full registration as an Enrolled Nurse/Registered Nurse/Nurse Practitioner with current annual practising certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), OR
• Current full registration as a Psychologist, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse with current annual practising certificate from the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), OR
• Current full registration as a Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or be eligible to hold membership with theAustralian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
• Ongoing compliance with CPD and professional registration requirements.
• Experience in mental health practice.
• Demonstrated ability to form and nurture partnerships with government and non-government mental health, emergency, and community service providers.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, demonstrate empathy and build trust.
• Strong capacity to engage effectively when working with discomfort, distress and people experiencing crisis.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing demands and exercise sound judgement.
• Experience in working as a member of a transdisciplinary team with the ability to inspire and facilitate team commitment and cooperation.
• Ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of a diverse range of people and identify changing needs within a group.
• Knowledge of trauma informed care.
• Strong computer literacy and written communication skills.
