Job summary

Gateway Health in Wodonga is seeking a part-time counsellor to provide assessment, counselling and outreach to men who use family and domestic violence, with a strong focus on accountability and safety of women and children.

The role delivers individual and group interventions, with secondary consultation to the Domestic and Family Violence team and is anchored in feminist frameworks and gendered violence understanding.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or related disciplines.
• Knowledge and understanding in family domestic violence service and extensive experience in case management.
• Ability to provide group facilitation.
• Knowledge and/or experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
• The ability to work autonomously.

About the Role

This is a rewarding part-time opportunity (60.8 – 68.4 hours per fortnight) based in Wodonga, providing assessment, counselling, outreach and group facilitation to men who use family and domestic violence, with a strong focus on accountability and the safety of women and children.

This role engages men to increase their readiness to participate in behaviour change programs, delivers one-on-one and group interventions, and provides secondary consultation to the Domestic and Family Violence team. The role is grounded in an intersectional feminist framework and a strong understanding of the gendered nature of family violence.

This role is classified under the Community Health Centre (Stand Alone Services) Social and Community Service Employees (SACS) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022 level 4 or 5 ($46.70 - $55.84 + superannuation)
