Job summary

Direct Couriers seeks an Offsider for its Direct Sensitive service in Melbourne. This hands-on role supports the driver with loading, unloading and secure handling of high-value freight across the Melbourne metro area.

You will assist with navigation, site access and delivery sequencing while maintaining strict chain of custody and professional client experience at every stop. A safety-focused mindset and can-do attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in freight handling, logistics or a similar hands-on environment is highly regarded.
• Full Australian working rights, with the ability to pass a Right to Work check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in completing scheduled and on-demand deliveries across the Melbourne metro area.
• Support the driver with navigation, site access, and delivery sequencing throughout the day.
• Assist in confirming delivery details and obtaining proof of delivery at each stop.
• Help maintain the vehicle's presentation and load area throughout the shift.
• Load, secure, and unload freight in accordance with client requirements and Direct Couriers procedure.
• Apply correct load restraint and strapping methods to secure freight for transit.
• Handle high-value, fragile, and sensitive freight with care and precision at all times.
• Maintain strict chain of custody when handling freight on and off the vehicle.
• Identify and report any damaged, missing, or incorrectly labelled freight immediately.
